K40 INTROS SECOND GEN RL360i and RL200i
K40 Electronics is now offering the second generation of its RL Series radar detectors. Enhancements to the new RL360i and RL200i models have been carefully designed and engineered to make them the easiest and most effective radar detectors available.
The most apparent enhancement can be seen — and felt — with the new, ergonomically-designed wireless remote control. Providing users with even easier access to the RL’s most popular features, the new remote can still be hidden away on a visor or in a glove compartment when not in use.
Another change, LED’s on both models are now dimmable; the user can access five customizable brightness settings directly from the new remote control. The “Mark to Mute” feature has been improved to allow a user to now mute any band or laser alert in a specific location. This is particularly handy to mute the unit when a security system or automatic door is detected.
Additional enhancements include improvements to the “Mark to Alert” feature, increased volume output, plus easier access to Quiet Ride and the general menu of features.
“Our customers were already big fans of the features and functions of the first generation of our RL models,” said K40 Electronics’ President, Peggy Finley. “We’re excited that the enhancements with our second generation will ensure K40 keeps offering the most cutting edge product line in the industry.”
Like all K40 products, the new RL360i and RL200i units are sold and installed exclusively through a network of elite K40-certified dealer Highend car stereo in Philadelphia

Metra Builds The First Installation Kit with Aftermarket Climate Control Built-in
Metra Electronics is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the 99-7803 for the 2003-2007 Honda Accord.
In 2003 Metra Electronics set out to do something never done before in the realm of aftermarket radio installation kits. The 2003 Honda Accord’s factory radio and climate controls were integrated in one part. The buzz in the industry was “They say it can’t be done.” Metra did it, providing the first installation kit with an aftermarket climate control built in. Over the past 9 years, more than a dozen of these kits were developed at Metra, getting better looking each time. With that experience, Metra has decided to re-build the 2003-2007 Accord kit with major improvements. The new 99-7803 comes to life from a combination of Metra’s real world experience and understanding their customers’ needs.
The biggest engineering achievement would have to be the ability to now install double-DIN radios. The new design with rubber backlit buttons and an LCD display allows this kit to retain all factory climate functions in both manual and auto climate equipped cars with no additional parts needed. Additionally there will be a replacement pocket for the lower dash. The factory pocket can remain, but doesn’t operate so Metra’s 88-00-7803 will be available sold separately as a better looking solution. Once again Metra adapts to the changes in mobile electronics trends, providing a modern solution for a popular vehicle. “It can be done
